Cable Management

Cable management is a vital integral of the modern Data Centers. Network engineers spends lots of time to ensure proper cable management in updating the network cables connects & disconnects. If unplanned & not updated, it lead to “spaghetti” cabinets, difficult for equipment installations, with extended hours of troubleshooting and maintenance.

In Data Center, a cable management strategy is to provides network-wide standards for how the LAN & fiber cables are managed. It helps to provide speedy and accurate of moves/adds/changes with proper documentations.

In order to manage the Cable Management effectively, Network engineers need total transparency with graphical documentation from nodes, trays, sections, and splice plans right down to individual LAN & fiber cable assignments. With signal tracing and auto routing, schematic visualization and integration, plus planning and workflow capabilities. A well-designed cable management strategy addresses key factors such as how patch cords should be run within and between cabinets, parameters relating to how cable trays and other pathways are to be used & its capacity, the labeling of LAN & optical fiber in cross connects and best practices for periodic commissioning & decommissioning of unused patch cords.

With NxT GTX Blade I/O cards, Network Engineers can use the I/O cards to map the LAN cables with the Network Analyzers to provide granular details of each LAN cable connections using the bidirectional GTX communication from patch cord end to end.
